Monthly Challenges for Motivation and Accountability
Engaging in monthly challenges is an excellent strategy to maintain motivation, stay accountable, and strive towards achieving small goals or accomplishments. It's similar to making a New Year's resolution, but without the risk of forgetting about it by February 1st. Although my expertise lies in the realm of food and nutrition, I believe in stepping away from challenges that revolve around activities I already incorporate into my daily routine.
Recently, with the onset of my little one's crawling phase (soon followed by running), I find myself with less time to prioritize self-care. Therefore, this month, I have decided to challenge myself to focus more on personal well-being. To ensure attainability, I have chosen three small goals that, once achieved, will positively impact my overall well-being. Moreover, if I am unable to meet these goals, there's no need to worry because another month is just around the corner.
The essence of monthly challenges lies in setting realistic and enjoyable goals that you can genuinely dedicate yourself to. In the past, I had ample time for reading, so for September, I will set a reasonable goal of finishing just one book. Another goal I have set is attending two yoga classes, as this activity brings me joy but often takes a back seat amidst the chaos of daily life. Finally, my third goal is to spend quality time with my close friends. Although maintaining relationships can be arduous, it is crucial for our mental well-being. I crave those belly laughs over completely inappropriate topics and cherish the opportunity to vent about the responsibilities of adulthood.
Overall, these three easy and achievable goals will be instrumental in benefiting me and enhancing my well-being. It is important to remember that wellness encompasses various aspects of life, so taking care of oneself should always remain a priority.
